With a degree in medical science and neuropharmacology, Andrew’s background mixes both the healthcare and telecoms, private and public sectors, boutique and international consultancies, and NHS organisations. With over 21 years in healthcare, Andrew has worked with many sectors of the NHS, with the last 12 years in Cornwall for the commissioning organisations – director of strategy, director of primary care and now director of research and innovation. Andrew is responsible for ensuring the ICB meets new legal duties around the facilitation and promotion of research, the use evidence obtained from research, and the adoption of innovation and best practice.
Andrew is co-developing the service delivery theme for PenARC, ensuring good relationships with his fellow ICB leads, that the priorities and challenges of the local NHS systems drive PenARC’s work, and that the work of PenARC is translated into on-the-ground service delivery.
