Qualitative methods, researching with children and young people
Bekkah Bernheim is a Postdoctoral Research Associate. She is currently working as part of a team on a realist evaluation. The project aims to understand how Family Group Conferences can be embedded as an alternative to Initial Child Protection Conferences to improve outcomes for children and families on the Child Protection pathway.
Bekkah undertook a PhD in Social Policy at the University of Edinburgh. Her PhD research focused on identifying the gendered factors enabling and constraining young women’s daily journeys and their use of public space in Inverness, Scotland. Before starting her PhD, Bekkah completed as MSc in Childhood Studies at the University of Edinburgh, and worked for several years in the community and youth development sector.
