Former Physiotherapist and Age UK Cornwall Employee
Emily is currently working on a PhD entitled: ‘Using Mixed Methods to improve our understanding of maintaining independence in Older People.’
The topic follows well from her previous experience. Having graduated from the University of the West of England (UWE) in 2015 with a BSc in Physiotherapy she subsequently worked as a Community Physiotherapist in North Somerset and as part of the acute team at Treliske Hospital, Truro.
Pursuing her passion for holistic care suited to individual psychosocial and sociodemographic needs, in 2016/17 Emily transitioned into paid roles within the third sector. As an employee of Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change and, most recently, Age UK Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Emily was involved in facilitating engagement and service development to fill identified gaps within the social and health care landscape.
