Qualitative methods, Service evaluation, Digital Health
I joined PenARC in November 2018 as a Research Fellow in complex interventions. My interests predominantly relate to qualitative health services research and trial methodology, but also extend to medical education, assessment, semiotics, digital health and policy evaluation.
Previously, I worked as a post-doctoral researcher on a number of projects associated with the Department of Health and General Medical Council. I have managed a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programme that focused on developing innovative solutions to ageing-related conditions with Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Much of my work both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral has focused on co-production of research with local healthcare organisations, public, private and third sector.
I have an interest in many different qualitative methodologies, from ethnography, interviewing, and focus groups to evidence synthesis, moreover, how they function within complex intervention and trials research.
I am an honorary Research Fellow at Exeter Medical School and run my own private research consultancy that focuses on innovation, commercialisation and knowledge exchange for clinical companies.
