Patient and Public Involvement

Our Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Team supports patients, service users, carers and family members to get involved in the work of ARC South West Peninsula. This is linked to engagement, which refers to a wider set of activities by university researchers and staff to make the university’s activities accessible and understandable to the communities we aim to serve. We also run initiatives to introduce our research activities to members of the public and community groups.

The Team works closely alongside our Patient and Public Involvement Group (PenPEG) to help maximise the benefits of health research and ensure that our research is grounded in reality.

Our PPIE Team conducts and publishes research on how best to involve members of the public in health policy, research and practice. Through teaching, workshops and creating resources, they also help members of the public to develop their own research questions and learn about research.

Find out more about what we do on our Patient and Public Involvement pages.
