Biography

Julian is currently working as a Researcher-in-Residence in the Devon Integrated Care System as a means to mobilise knowledge, support innovation and implementation, undertake service evaluation and build research capacity and capability.

Using this approach he has researched new models of integrated care (intermediate care), adult social care and person-centred care (social prescribing; well-being coaching), as well as population health management. He has expertise in health screening, inter-organisational working and partnership/collaboration and has worked in academia, the NHS and the voluntary sector to improve services, provide quality assurance, address social justice and reduce health inequalities.

Julian is a multidisciplinary, mixed-methods researcher drawing on a wide range of literatures, including health services, public health, sociology, economics and organisation theory. He has published primary and secondary research on a range of public health related topics (health services, health protection and health promotion).
