Statistics
I joined PenCLAHRC in April 2010 as a senior statistician and have provided input into the design, development and execution of a range of projects. In 2012 I was appointed to a Chair in Medical Statistics at the University of Exeter Medical School where I currently lead the Health Statistics group. A particular focus of my research is developing and applying methods for making more effective use of routinely collected health data. I lead the MRC-funded Extending the Prior Event Rate Ratio (EPERR) project investigating quasi-experimental methods for addressing sources of bias when evaluating medical interventions using Primary Care databases. The outputs of this research could help to enhance decision making relating to planning of future randomised controlled trials, as well as guiding treatment options in the clinic.
