Ageing and wellbeing; qualitative research; qualitative evidence synthesis
I am a social scientist with a particular interest in using qualitative research methods and qualitative evidence synthesis to understand ageing and wellbeing. I have experience in undertaking in-depth interviews, life story interviews, focus groups, and in using visual methods in primary research projects. More recently, I have led on the qualitative evidence synthesis strand of a mixed methods review on a NIHR: RfPB funded project on older people and physical activity. I have also worked on a collaborative project with the Sensory Trust on a qualitative evidence synthesis on older people’s sensory experiences of the natural environment. The findings from this review are informing the development of a training toolkit, My Nature, for the residential and nursing care sector. This project is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council’s Impact Acceleration Scheme.
