Qualitative Research, Evaluation of Interventions and Programmes, Physical Activity and social Exclusion
I am a registered psychologist and qualitative researcher with project management experience. I joined PenCLAHRC in 2012 and currently work as a research fellow on two projects.
Prior to this I worked on the internal evaluation of the pilot PenCLAHRC programme. This was a formative realist evaluation with a participatory approach to examine how closer collaboration between researchers and clinicians promoted research knowledge translation. I am a Health and Care Professions Council Registered Forensic Psychologist, and a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. I previously worked for the Ministry of Justice with responsibilities that included the development, evaluation and audit of evidence-based interventions for people with criminal convictions within prison and probation. My doctoral research was a narrative life-story study exploring adults’ experience of transforming a criminal lifestyle and the role of identity, embodiment and physical activity within a strengths-based framework.
